ten things you didn't have to think about at all ten years ago

1. organic anything
2. computer viruses, spam or spyware
3. the war on terror
4. Rachael Ray and Ryan Seacrest
5. global warming
6. antioxidants, antidepressants, antibiotic-resistant diseases
7. blogs, twitters, YouTube and Google
8. cell phones or ringtones
9. digital music, digital TV, digital movies
10. reality television

Most of these didn't exist in 1998. And of the few that did, nobody really cared yet.

That's only ten. There are thousands upon thousands added to the list every year, going from 0 to 60 on your mental, emotional and temporal radar in the blink of an eye. Bet you don't go a week -- maybe even a day -- without hearing or thinking about at least 70% of the things on this list.

It's getting all crowded up in here.
