may is the new december

December used to be the giant sumo wrestler on my calendar, crushing me under the weight of a zillion parties, lists and obligations. But in the past few years, May has risen up, dug the tiny thong out of its giant rear end, and sat right on my face. With all the weddings, graduations, Mother's Day's, and end-of-year school projects, reports, papers, parties and field trips, it's no wonder they end the month with Memorial Day, because we've all effectively been KILLED OFF IN THE WAR.
