happy thanksgiving
Today, the Adkins Five will go over the river and through the woods (or at least over 441 and through downtown Apopka) to celebrate Thanksgiving with Nona and Papa and all the homey, childhood recipes we can stuff onto our table and into our protesting stomachs.
Beforehand, the boys will deliver a few meals to people who need them. And afterward, we'll argue over what to watch on television, marvel at the people who camp out in line for shopping bargains, make various Christmas plans that we may or may not keep, doze on the couch, and punctuate our conversations with memories of holidays gone by.
With all the changes in the world, I have a great fondness for The Same. Here's hoping your Thanksgiving is even half as happy as mine will be.
