masking & unveiling

I have a whole editorial about this topic that is working its way out of my gut, but after watching too much CNN this week I have to share this simple thought: When political promises from all sides have their basis not in building a better future but in building a safer and more comfortable one, we have walked away from the American dream.

Whether the voices promise you that they'll build the armies and walls and bombs to keep you from harm, or they promise you equal access to health and wealth and comfort, our republic is shifting from a government by the people and for the people to a government about the people, which is quite a different thing.

America is the land of the free and the home of the brave, and there is nothing safe about either of those things.
